Republican John Cox made it to a luncheon in Iowa on Saturday despite the bad weather. Former Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson and Kansas Senator Sam Brownback backed out of the meeting due to the freezing rain.
"I made it in and they didn’t. So that says something about my dedication," Cox told the group who came out despite the weather.
The Chicago businessman also took a stab at the Democratic front-runners: "I’m excited about the prospect of what this is going to mean for America. I think there are some real changes that are necessary. I’m hoping that this campaign is not going to be all about who Hillary and Obama raise money from. I hope it’s going to start to talk about issues and the future of this country."
