Congressman Tom Tancredo has joined the growing field of Republicans candidates by announcing that he has formed an exploratory committee.
"I am writing to you as a fellow believer in the cause of securing America's borders. My purpose is to obtain your support as I embark upon a path that may lead to the Republican nomination for the Presidency of the United States," Tancredo says in a letter to the American people, which he put on his new campaign site.
He goes onto say, "I am also considering this campaign because I believe the Republican Party and its leaders must recommit themselves to limited, smaller government; fiscal responsibility; and honesty in public office."
Tancredo has been given A ratings from conservative groups such as the National Right to Life Committee and the Family Research Council.

I'm glad Tancredo is in the race if only to oppose the extremist nutjobs who want our borders to be erased and our children to be wage slaves to the corporate elite.
It's too bad his race for the White House seems so focused on one issue. His statement looks like everything else is an afterthought.
Tom Tancredo has broad, worthy credentials but has built a reputation as a "Stop the Invasion" Politician. This one issue will doubtless destroy the nation unless "the day of Islam" arrives first. However Tancredo's baggage for me is wanting to run under the Republican banner when this feckless aggregation has both ostracized him and sullied the GOP banner forever. The Party of Lincoln and Reagan is dead! The fatuous suits and ties in charge till mid-term gave us the finger and torrents of empty babble.Their Lockstep with the nefarious tyrant in the oval office has torpedoed GENUINE Republican chances short of RINO Rabble or a military coup for the next 40 years. I'll not give one red cent nor one hour of work for arrogant prigs, now or ever. Try me with a new fresh party and candidates like Tancredo. More of the same will give us more of the same.
