Pence for President?

Congressman Mike Pence (R-IN) will be giving the key note address for the Ronald Reagan banquet at this weekend's Conservative Political Action Committee meeting. Now, the question of whether Pence will be running for President or not has come up.

A spokesperson for the Congressman said that "Congressman Pence has not ruled out a run in the near term or the long term." A draft Pence movement has already taken form, you can see their web site here.

Pence is pro life, and voted for a constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage. He also voted in favor of reporting illegal aliens who have received medical help. To see where Congressman Pence stands on other issues go here.

Mike Pence, Newt Gingrich & Duncan Hunter are prob. the only Conservative Republicans left to be President. I would support either one of those guys

Pence has proposed a “guest” worker plan that does not require “guest” workers ever to leave the U.S., while at the same time it allows them to bring their families.

Gingrich is a statist lightweight.

Mike Pence would be a much better candidate than Newt Gingrich. Duncan Hunter would be O.K. But I like the idea of a Paul or Tancredo Presidency best.

Of course, before a true conservative candidate of this sort can be elected, true conservative principles must be regained. The most fundamental of conservative principles is the idea of "limited constitutional government" which very few seem willing to champion today.

This site is a wonderful step in the right direction.
