Tancredo Quits Race, Endorses Romney

Tom Tancredo ended his campaign for the Republican nomination today and endorsed Mitt Romney.

The Colorado congressman ended his campaign because he did not want to be a spoiler that could lead to a candidate that is weak on immigration getting the nomination. Tancredo said that Romney has a "solid record" on immigration and he could "go the distance."

Gilchrist Backs Huckabee

Minuteman Project founder and 2005 American Independent (California Constitution Party) congressional candidate turned Republican Jim Gilchrist has endorsed Republican Mike Huckabee for president.

"The governor has a [illegal immigration] plan and I appreciate his plan. That's why I'm supporting him. He's one of the few who's actually brought forth a plan and gone public with it. It shows to me that he's willing to engage in the tough love necessary to fix this problem," said Gilchrist.

Republican presidential candidate Tom Tancredo campaigned for Gilchrist in his 2005 race and Gilchrist has previously expressed interest in seeking the 2008 presidential nomination of the Constitution Party.

McCain: Not everyone here illegally should be deported

Republican presidential candidate John McCain does not believe that all illegals in America should be deported.

"If you're prepared to send an 80-year-old grandmother who's been here 70 years back to some country, then, frankly you're not quite as compassionate as maybe I am," said McCain at a campaign stop in South Carolina.

Coulter Goes After Huckabee and Thompson

Fred Thompson and Mike Huckabee are the targets of conservative columnest and author Ann Coulter's most recent editoral.

Coulter says that: "Conservatives unhappy with our Republican presidential candidates seem to be drifting aimlessly toward Fred Thompson and Mike Huckabee in the misguided belief that these candidates are more conservative than Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney. This is like breaking up with Bobby Brown so you can date Phil Spector."

She goes onto attack Huckabee's position on illegal immigration, among other things, saying that: "Huckabee makes George Bush sound like Tom Tancredo."

Coulter is also critical of Thompson voting against impeaching Presidential Bill Clinton.

Hunter A Qualified Conservative

Many are overlooking California Congressman Duncan Hunter for the Republican presidential nomination, which is really too bad because he is a well qualified conservative.

Hunter has served in the House of Representatives since 1981 and has always been a conservative. The American Conservative Union even gave him a 92% life time rating.

As a Vietnam War veteran and former Chairman of the Armed Service Committee he is a knowledgeable candidate on National Security.

Hunter is also a strong supporter of the right to life for everyone. He supports a constitutional amendment to define "person hood" as beginning at conception and has been given a 100% rating from National Right to Life.

Through his efforts a fence was constructed along the U.S.-Mexico boarder in San Diego, which resulted in a 90% decrease of illegal immigration in that area. He is also opposed to amnesty for the current illegal immigrants in America. He was in opposition to the Kennedy-McCain amnesty bill that failed to pass earlier this year.

A believer that marriage is between one man and one woman, Rep. Hunter supports a constitutional amendment banning same sex marriages.

Hunter is also a strong supporter of Israel, missile defense and the 2nd amendment. He received an A+ rating from the National Rifle Association.

Romney Criticized On Immigration Stand

Republican Mitt Romney if facing criticism over where he stands on the new immigration legislation as he campaigns in Florida.

Romney has called for the stronger boarder security, tamper-proof ID cards, and that illegals should go back to their country and "get in line."

To that Marshal Fitz of the American Immigration Lawyers Association says: ''That's exactly what's on the table. All of those things are part of the immigration package. Romney and the other candidates who continue to beat their chests against this legislation are just playing to the conservative base.''

GOP Candidates On New Immigration Plan

Republican Candidates on the new immigration legislation:

Mitt Romney:
"I strongly oppose today's bill going through the Senate. It is the wrong approach. Any legislation that allows illegal immigrants to stay in the country indefinitely, as the new 'Z-Visa' does, is a form of amnesty. That is unfair to the millions of people who have applied to legally immigrate to the U.S."

Tom Tancredo:
Bill creators "seem to think that they can dupe the American public into accepting a blanket amnesty if they just call it 'comprehensive' or 'earned legalization' or 'regularization.' The president is so desperate for a legacy and a domestic-policy win that he is willing to sell out the American people and our national security."

Duncan Hunter:
"I vow to oppose this legislation supported by Senators Edward Kennedy and John McCain.It provides a vast new immigration benefit to millions of illegal aliens who have broken our laws to live in the United States.I opposed the 1986 amnesty act because of this same reason.It proved to be the draw that we predicted it would be.I am deeply disappointed to see history repeating itself."

Tancredo Calls for Border Wall

"It's important to understand, my friends, that people coming across our country into this country, some of them are coming for the same purpose as they people who went to Beslan. It's not all people who are just looking for the job that no other American wants ... but there are other people, very dangerous people, who come across that border unimpeded, and there is absolutely nothing to say that the same thing that happened in Beslan could not happen here," said Republican presidential candidate Rep. Tom Tancredo.

Here is Tancredo's solution: "I want not only a fence, I want a wall. I want troops on the border. I want to know who is coming into this country. I want to know for what purpose and for how long, and why is that so difficult for people to understand?"

Congressman Tom Tancredo made his candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination official today.

Tancredo will be making illegal immigration the focus of his campaign. When asked why he was running, Tancredo said "You look and you see no one is going to make this [illegal imagination] the primary issue of their campaign."

Baldwin: 'Red Carpet For Illegals'

"Short of sending Lear jets or stretch limousines to pick up illegals, our political and corporate leaders have done everything in their power to put out a huge red carpet invitation for them," says 2004 Constitution Party Vice Presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin.

Baldwin goes onto say "All in all, President Bush has been the single most influential cheerleader for illegal immigration that America has ever had. It is little wonder he can speak Spanish more fluently than he can English."

The possible 2008 candidate for President ended his article by saying "We are not going to have many more elections available to us, folks. In another 8-10 years, it will be too late. By then, illegal immigration will have become so pervasive that our country will be unrecognizable and unredeemable. The time to act is now!"

Kubby's Immigration Plan

What would Libertarian presidential hopeful Steve Kubby do to solve the problem of illegal immigration?

The first step Kubby would take in securing the American boarder, which Congress would have to pass, is "let those who bear us no ill will to come in 'through the front door' -- to walk across the border publicly and conveniently instead of sneaking over it in the middle of the night and in the middle of the desert." Apparently Kubby thinks that any one that is not a criminal should be allowed to freely walk across the boarder without being identified but, if they are not identified how will it be known if they are peaceful or not?

The next step Kubby would take would not require the approval of Congress, it is to "re-focus the government services which address that border away from hassling peaceful immigrants and toward detecting and eliminating real threats to the United States." This is a good idea, the people that are threats should be detected and stopped from crossing over to America but, as long as it is law, every one should be checked and meet the requirements to legally enter into the U.S.

Hunter on Illegal Immigration

Congressman Duncan Hunter, a 2008 Republican Presidential hopeful, is opposed to illegal immigration and in support of the 700 mile fence along the Mexico boarder.

Hunter also said, "I think that you have to enforce the law and that includes employer sanctions," NewsMax reports Hunter as saying.

Independent Ready to Stop Illegal Immigration

Independent presidential candidate Stephen James is ready to stop illegal immigration and punish those who hire illegal aliens.

"If elected I would propose a federal law that would make fines for those hiring illegals $50,000 per employee and that their be jail time for all corporate officers and or board members of a minimum 6 months," James says in a blog entry.

James goes onto say "Currently we also have an agreement with Mexico that we will not station troops along the U S / Mexico border.I would immediately do away with this, and start a rotation of military units to assist the border patrol until more patrol can be hired and trained."

Imperato: More Border Security

Independent candidate Daniel Imperato wants more boarder security and recognizes that the open board is a security risk: "Increased border patrol so that terrorists can't easily enter our borders" his web site now says.

Imperato recently dumped his Vice Presidential running mate, Webster Brooks, "Based upon the advice of my advisors and businesspeople that I am in contact with, I felt this was the correct decision for the campaign. The people of the United States of America deserve a strong campaign for 2008 and need a viable option to revive America," Imperato said in a press release.

Why Boarders Need to Be Secured

The United State's boarders should be secured. With the rising threat of terrorism on US soil, it is imperative that the boarders are secured and stay secured.

With weakness in boarder patrol it will allow potential terrorist from other countries to cross over without being identified.

If the boarders are not secured, America will remain an easy to target for an attack.
